Doug has been active in solar energy in Oregon since 1974 when he built his solar heated home in Gladstone . He was employed 22 years at PGE as solar/renewable energy consultant and also developed conservation marketing programs. As owner and Principal of Cascade Solar Consulting, LLC, he performs a range of renewable energy consulting, engineering, design, and project management focused on grid-tie photovoltaic and solar thermal (solar space and water heating) systems. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Association of Oregon, a member of the American Solar Energy Society, a member of the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland, and a registered Professional Engineer in Oregon . He also serves as a member of the Renewable Advisory Committee for the Energy Trust of Oregon.
Doug founded Cascade Solar Consulting in September, 1998, and has worked on many solar projects since then.
