In 1999, Cascade Solar received funding to operate the solar radiation data monitoring site for the Portland, OR metropolitan area.

The Portland Area Regional Solar Radiation Data Monitoring Station measures three types of solar radiation using pyranometers - horizontal global radiation, radiation from the south (tilted at 30 degrees), and beam radiation. A datalogger captures this data, including temperature, every 5 minutes.

The University of Oregon Solar Center processes this data. Also, Cascade Solar writes monthly reports about the data, and you can receive these reports with a subscription with CSC.
